Please note that as part of our continued commitment to providing a first class hosting environment for our customers, we will be carrying out a planned upgrade of our power infrastructure and associated systems at our Glasgow Data Centre. This upgrade is primarily to improve our environment and power facilities in advance of future expansion. Our Systems teams have carried out significant and detailed planning to ensure the upgrade goes smoothly. As part of that process we will be carrying out a controlled power down of sections of our data centre which will cause periods of downtime for some services. Affected services will be: - Iomartmail Email Services (Professional Mail, Microsoft Exchange) - Shared Web Hosting (Pic n Mix, Starter, Starter Plus, Business etc.) - Virtual Servers (All types) - Dedicated Servers (All types) As we will be powering down different sections at different times, not all services will be affected at the same time. We will be working to restore full power functionality to all services as quickly as possible, if this can be completed before the planned completion time we will of course do so. The .CN Registry (CNNIC) has advised they will be performing an extended maintenance window starting on Saturday, April 19, 2008 from 01:00 - 15:00 UTC. Please note that this is a 14 hour extended maintenance and not the standard 4 hour maintenance that CNNIC performs. A reminder on Nominet's policy for .ltd.uk domains:
All registrants in .ltd.uk and .plc.uk must be incorporated companies (not partnerships of any type or unincorporated companies) listed on the index of company and corporate names ('the Names Register') maintained under section 714 of the Companies Act 1985 (or later equivalents); and (for .ltd.uk domains) must be entitled to use 'Limited', 'cyfyngedig', 'ltd.' or'cyf'. in their corporate name; or (for .plc.uk domains) must be entitled to use 'Public Limited Company', 'Cwmni cyfyngedig cyhoeddus', 'Plc.' or 'ccc'. in their corporate name. Please note that when applying for .ltd.uk or .plc.uk domains in your control panel or via the API, you must also send an email with the company number and registered name of the company to us at resellers@easynic.com. Failure to do so will result in a delay in the application for the name being made. Applications for these domains are made manually and are also assessed manually by Nominet so please bear in mind that confirmation of registration will take longer than with standard domains. On June 11, Nominet, the registry operator for .UK, will perform a system upgrade. This upgrade is part of Nominet’s ongoing data restructuring project, and is largely comprised of back-end changes. These changes will allow Nominet to eventually move to the EPP protocol, and introduce new functions in the future. Nominet has scheduled this upgrade for Sunday, June 11. On 26 August 2006, we will be migrating our .com and .net domain names to the EPP system. This system has been introduced across the domain name industry to bring about a uniform way for registrars to communicate with the domain registries. Between 1500 and 2100 GMT on Saturday 26th August, we will be updating all existing .com and .net domains to allocate an EPP code. This will be necessary for transferring domain names between registrars. During this maintenance time, new registrations, renewals, transfers and changes to registrant information may experience slower response times. We apologise for any incovenience this may cause. Also from Saturday 26th August, EPP codes will be required to transfer .com and .net domain names in. EPP codes will be available through your control panel shortly. Friday, August 4
